With Season 1 coming to an end this Thursday night, we have arranged for everyone to get their weekly volleyball fix before Season 2 launches! We would love for everyone to still join us on Thursday nights for casual games where we can have a lot of fun and build our skills at the same time.

Training on Tuesday nights is still available to all Gladstone Volleyball Association members who want to improve their skills (beginners and competitive players training available).

Keep an eye out on our Facebook page for more info!!!

Round 4 was filled with some great games! There were lots of great blocks, hard fought rallies, and for some, lots of laughs.

Check out the video for some highlights. I'm still photographing on my phone so please excuse the blur

Round 2

Week 2 of the Gladstone Volleyball season was great fun!

In B mixed Stink grabbed their second victory in as many weeks against Xporters, winning all four sets. Set Me Up were unable to follow up last weeks success, losing to Kiss My Ace 3 sets to 1. This week saw the entry of GVA Women (our women's representative squad) and Gladstone State High School senior School of Excellence team. This adds some serious competition to B mixed and will certainly raise the standard of play this year!

A Mixed continued with teams changing every set and points allocated to the individuals in the winning teams! Ben M continued his dominance in this format with a perfect score of 8. Many of our women are thriving in this competition because of their fantastic teamwork. Emma, Georgia, & Mel are 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively!

Unfortunately Chanel forfeited against new team to C Mixed this year, Setting Ducks, as many students were away on school camp. However, Setting Ducks challenged some of our B grade players in a hard fought game. As this team gets more experience I am confident they will be fierce opponents!

For full results please head to our results page! When all teams are finalised the ladder will also appear on this page! Results

Late last year I wrote a blog post with a video on the basics of playing volleyball. Now as the season is beginning I want to share with those that have never played volleyball how to serve!
To be honest I only started playing volleyball last week, and thanks to Tuesday night training, am now learning the overarm serve!!!

Check out more of these eHow videos for more information on how to play, or come along to training to learn more!

Our sign on night for Season 1, 2017 will be held on the 16th of February from 6-8pm. We will also host some casual volleyball games so people can come and try it out before signing up!

We are looking for players and teams for our social competitions: Division A (mixed) will be for teams wanting strong competition, and Division B (mixed) will be more social in nature with friendly competition.

The format for all games is Fast Fours. The basic rules are 4 sets, maximum of 4 serves per person before rotating, and first team to 15 points wins the set.

We hope to see lots of you at sign on night, and maybe even hang around for a friendly hit!
