Volleyball is a great sport to play socially or competitively, and this is true even if you've never played it before.
I know most of us who play volleyball understand the basics of the game, but for those who have never tried it before I would like to encourage you to watch the video below. This covers the most basic elements of the game and gives some context to the lingo you will hear around the court!
Trying something new can be scary, but with a little information you will feel less like a novice and be ready to play in the Gladstone social competition next year!
Watch this space for more how-tos!
The season draw for the remainder of 2016 has been uploaded to our website. Click on the link Season Draw tab of this website to view all times for volleyball games in our Gladstone competition.
See you all on Thursday night!
This weekend Volleyball Australia hosted their Rising Stars Camp in Gladstone. This camp was a fantastic opportunity for some of our young sporting stars to develop their skills under the guidance of national level coaches! Andrew McCaskill and David Smythe from Volleyball Australia guided our Rising Stars through 2 days of skill development, as well as educating participants on nutrition, caring for your body and the mind of an athlete.
This camp also served to continue the development of some of our regions coaches. The coaches represented Gladstone Volleyball Association, Gladstone State High School and Moura State High School.
