Social competition:
Gladstone Volleyball Association (GVA) runs a local competition catering to beginners and experienced social players. Seasons run between February and November with breaks for public holidays and school holidays. Our competition on Tuesday & Thursday nights commence from 5:15 & 6:00pm respectively.

We run 2 seasons a year. Each season has 1-2 casual volleyball (pre-season) rounds, which allow people to try the game, build skill and find or create teams for new individual players. Following this are a series of regular rounds with a round robin format for each division and 1-2 rounds of finals. The finals format varies depending on the number of teams.

Match format = 3 sets (25, 25 & 15) - time capped.
Matches are 45 minutes + a 5 minute warm up. Each match consists of 3 sets, and games are time capped to finish by the scheduled completion time. After winning 3 consecutive points on serve the server must rotate (Divisions 2 & 3 only).

Teams are required to provide a referee and scorer for duty as per the season draw.
